Thomas O’Hara & Misha Johnston – Celebrated the Sacrament of Marriage on July 28, 2018 at St. John the Baptism Catholic Church in Costa Mesa, CA. Congratulations!!!
In 10 years of shooting weddings, I’ve seen it all. However, it takes experiencing a wedding like Thomas & Misha’s to realize what the Sacrament of Marriage is all about. Their joy and excitement was wrapped up in innocence and reverence that was quite evident for all to see. Family and friends came together and filled the church to bear witness to their love. The hall was bursting at the seams with all ages. It was an amazing day and I’m honored to have been a part of it. Being a father to 7 daughters, and 1 son, I now know what I want for them. I’ve seen what it “should be” in Thomas & Misha. God bless you and your marriage.

Two weeks ago I was asked to photograph the Ordination of Fr. Timothy Freyer at St. Columban Catholic Church in Garden Grove, CA. Fr. Timothy was a local priest out of Huntington Beach, CA and on January 17th, 2017 he was ordained Auxiliary Bishop to Bishop Kevin Vann in the Diocese of Orange.
The liturgy was beautiful and the Church was packed with bishops, priests, and the lay faithful witnessing and celebrating this incredible moment.
Three things stuck out for me the most and I will never forget them.
- I was able to witness something that has been happening within the Church for over 2,000 years. Not many people get to witness an episcopal ordination, which is the fullness of the sacrament of Holy Orders. I feel incredibly privileged to have been a part of it.
- As a young boy, after his mother was instrumental in evangelizing his father to the faith, his father was stricken with cancer. Fr. Freyer found his vocation to the priesthood through his father’s suffering and his own passion to help those in need.
- “Go and make disciples of all nations!” proclaimed Bishop Freyer

Matt & Crystal’s wedding was on August 1st, 2015 at my own parish, St. Vincent de Paul Church in Huntington Beach, CA. The reception followed at the Hilton Waterfront right on the beach. It was a perfect day!
